Stan’s Lumber Inc. operates two locations – Elkhorn and Twin Lakes – and employs 100 people. In addition, Stan’s Lumber includes a contractor sales and service department, a kitchen and bathroom cabinetry sales and design department, a Do-It-Best-affiliated hardware store, and special order millwork sales and delivery. 88% of their business is with contractors.

Stan’s Lumber has been using an Enterprise point-of-sale system for sixteen years now. In 1999, they decided to switch from a CMS estimating package to Enterprise’s Professional Estimating. Currently, there are seven estimators at Stan’s Lumber using Professional Estimating. Five of them are new users! Stan says, "The system is easy to learn and use. And, training and support have been outstanding." Most takeoffs done by these estimators are for custom home projects. "Doing estimates with Professional Estimating takes half the time it does to do a manual takeoff," says Stan. "Customers are always impressed with the takeoffs; we return quotes faster; and the results are very accurate," he adds.

Another great advantage, according to Stan, is the time that Professional Estimating makes available for the sales team to focus on increasing sales. Additionally, he says, "Professional Estimating has made bidding much simpler for us."
